Notes for Nourishment Concert - November 18 - San Francisco

Where are YOU going to be at 4pm Sunday November 18?
If you are anywhere near the San Francisco Bay Area, come join us for our next Notes for Nourishment concert and see what this exciting concept is all about! The one-hour FREE concert features two young (but international award-winning!) classical guitarists, a wonderful Israeli clarinetist who excels at everything from Klezmer to Classical, an amazing Latin-American harp virtuoso who has won awards for numerous television broadcasts and CD recordings, and an internationally renowned concert pianist who is the founder and artistic director of the Notes for Nourishment series under the umbrella of its global foundation, ListenForLife.org

What will you hear?
The program on November 18 ranges from folk music to Rachmaninoff, and Schumann to Latin romance, with lullabies to rousing rhythms, ending with Malaguena! There will be solo pieces offered by each of the five performers, a few duets, and a grand finale arranged for all of the artists to play together. What's not to like? How many times have YOU gotten to hear a sizzling combination of clarinet, harp, classical guitar and piano, all played by internationally renowned artists? Just come!

Who will you help?
As many of you know by now, each Notes for Nourishment concert has a different artist or group, different cultures of music and a different beneficiary, chosen by the performers. All donations collected at the November 18 concert are going to a San Francisco based nonprofit called Children of Shelters (www.ChildrenOfShelters.org) that provides enriching educational and artistic experiences for homeless children or those being cared for in shelters.  This beneficiary was chosen by the young classical guitarist brothers, Conor and Nicholas Padmanabhan because, as they are both teens themselves, they can imagine what it must be like to be their ages (or younger) and have no access to school or music lessons or guitars - or a quiet bedroom in which to practice on them. So, Conor and Nicholas are both working hard to promote this concert - they are hoping you will come and donate as generously as possible so they can try to help provide some of these opportunities to young people like themselves. Please come, bring your friends, and encourage these young musicians in their gift of service to others!

Where do you need to be?
Our new series of Notes for Nourishment concerts is being hosted by the gorgeous Basilica of Mission Dolores, walkable from 16th St BART station, with an ample parking lot available for those who choose to drive. Its architecture offers lots of room (easily 1000 people), a warmly unifying ambiance and very special acoustics. It's also a place of tremendously interesting history, with access to peaceful cemetery gardens before or after the one-hour program. For more information on the Mission or the travel directions, see https://www.missiondolores.org/64
