October 16 - 2pm - Hawaiian 2by2

Now for our October concert:
Everyone is very excited for this combination of Hawaiian and Gospel music! Vocalist/songwriter and slack key guitarist extraordinaire, charismatic performer Patrick Landeza has been a winner of the Hawaiian "Grammy" awards. He will be bringing the OIGC (Oakland Interfaith Gospel Chorus) youth group with him on his next concert tour to Hawaii in February 2017, so they wanted to join forces for this concert as well. The OIGC Youth Choir has won numerous awards, and performed internationally. They will be conducted by famed Gospel artist Terrance Kelly. Terrance and Patrick are planning some special duos together for this October 16th performance, and everyone is guaranteed a great time!
The artists are all donating their talents and time for this free 1-hour program, where donations will be collected to benefit two organizations: the Mercy Center in Oakland, so that they can take in more elderly people needing assistance; and the OIGC programs for underserved youth in the Oakland Bay Area.

WHEN? OCTOBER 16, 2016 - 2PM
WHERE? ST. JOSEPH BASILICA - 1109 CHESTNUT ST., ALAMEDA, CA

September 2by2 Concert

Happy Fall Everyone!
We greatly apologize for the late posting of our September concert. We had a very special September 11th 15-year memorial concert. Firefighter, Mario Cuestas came in full dress uniform and white gloves, ringing the ceremonial fire bell 15 times for all of his fallen comrades and their families. This was followed by a concert by the San Francisco-based Slavyanka Russian Chorus which was about to depart the USA for a peace-building tour in Russia. A packed audience agreed wholeheartedly that their choral music nourishes not only the SF community but the globe at large, so they contributed generously toward travel scholarships for Slavyanka members who would otherwise be unable to participate in the October 4-17th tour.
